Fedina’s cultural team and Okkuta, the federation of retired people’s associations, demonstrated their anger on Saturday, June 27, 2009 in front of this hospital. With billboards, leaflets, and 20 minutes of performances: songs, dances and sketches, they denounced abuse, neglect and discrimination against the poor and the elderly within public hospitals.
Dozens of bystanders quickly gathered round the demonstrators, and the representation took place, despite an attempted eviction by the police. The audience then took part in this issue, and shared views with the Fedina team. Fedina uses street theater to raise public debate, and bring into focus the rights of the deprived, so that these rights may be claimed before the authorities.
